IT WAS ONLY A PICTURE

It was only a picture. Yet it was more than that. Her smile, her eyes; how familiar it felt. The distance between us reminded me it was only a picture but how I carried it as though she was mine. I loved her but she didn't love me. To think I never had her and to know I have lost her; tonight the distance seems even farther away. Is it to her that I write these sad words tonight or is it to fill the void and sadness that draws me to look through distant nights? My heart searches for her though I can't find her. Maybe she loved me but how can this be true? Her silence lasted so long as the distance grew. I can't remember the words we said anymore but how I carry how she made me feel so and so. It was only a picture and now it has faded. Maybe it was only meant for a season that we shared a moment in time and maybe it was only for a small reason. Tonight the moon is bright again, the north, the south, the east and west; the distance is all mine to gain. My mind is set that this be the last words I write to say good-by to my pain and to welcome a new day to stay.

Hi Mr. Romantic, you have a beautiful heart. Keep on writing. I like it and by the way, it's her loss. :)

Hi Acropolis, the poem is sad and I could picture you staring at the moon from your bedroom window.
